We wanted to make it more approachable, so we incorporated multiple programs all in one center so U. P. members could choose as many classes as they like, at their own pace and level.” Heather Weaver

Everyone is looking for a way to stay out of a fitness rut, but we often find ourselves hitting a wall. North Cypress Fitness has developed a program for all levels of fitness to break the monotony of workouts.The U. P. training system incorporates Hiit training, rope training, suspension training, Synergy cross training, and CrossFit all in one program in a state of the art facility on the second floor of its main location in Hammond. The small group training offers personal training attention with small group motivation at a low monthly fee, with a wide variety of high intensity classes that yield fast results-confidence, dedication, and consistency alongside weight loss, increased strength & flexibility, and overall conditioning. At the core of the system is the team of certified instructors, a highly trained team of enthusiastic champions that are intent on help- ing you reach your fitness goals and challenging you with ever changing workouts that keep you engaged and surprised. Passionate about health and fitness, this team of coaches will help to assess your fitness level, guide you towards the class formats that fit best, train you to practice using your best form and alignment, and encourage you towards pushing you past your comfort zone.

Fitness director, Dareen Lynch, says the program was created to encourage,support, and to coach participants towards their goals in an environment where everyone feels included, from the first time student to the seasoned cross fitter.They’ve seen a strong sense of community form-even amongst their own team members who stay after their work shifts are over so they can take an U. P. class. “I love that I’ve seen members and employees taking class formats that they would have never tried before. In this program, so many people have gone outside of their ‘usual’ and tried something new-and fallen in love it.” This is exactly the intention of the program-to offer something new and to provide the environment that creates that sense of intrepidness towards new fitness frontiers, such as the yoga student trying Hiit or the new mom trying CrossFit.With the most diverse specialized classes and equipment under one program at a very affordable price, the U. P.Training System has everything a member needs to stay fully engaged and motivated towards any fitness goal, at any stage of life.

The Workout: Synergy 360

How it works: one of the most versatile pieces of gym equipment, Synergy 360 offers group training circuits that pre- pare the beginner for the more intense class formats and challenges the advanced student with weight training, cardio, rowing machines, TRX Suspension & Rip training, plyo, and Hiit all in one center.

How it works: High intensity interval training-quick bursts of resistance and cardio sets in a cross training circuit in 30-minutes.

The Workout: TRX

Challenge level: High

Experience level: beginner to advanced

How it works: suspension training uses body weight and gravity as resistance, upper or lower body is always suspend- ed challenging the core, flexibility, and balance from all angles.

The Workout: RopeFit

Challenge level: High

How it works: heavy duty rope training encourages strength, power, and endurance

How it works: powerful music, inspira- tional coaches that workout alongside of you in this Les Mills Hiit Training. Combines strength, plyometrics, and cardio in a 30-minute format.

The Workout: Crossfit 1606

Challenge level: High Experience level:

Intermediate to Advanced

How it works: highly trained, certified coaches help you to safely push past your comfort zone in this very intense workout. In the class we visited, we saw several father/daughter teams, ages ranging from teens to 50′s.
